But Are You Really…Obsessed?

I’m baaaaaaack! Moving on.

Obsess: to dominate or preoccupy the thoughts, feelings, or desires of (a person); beset, trouble, or haunt persistently or abnormally

Obsessed: psychiatry  a persistent idea or impulse that continually forces its way into consciousness, often associated with anxiety and mental illness

Just some thoughts. Has anyone else witnessed the super ridiculous overuse of the word “obsessed” in the blogging world? Is it just me?! I am losing my mind.

It seems that the same girl can not only be OBSESSED with a myriad of different items at the same time but also many items of the same category. Such as multiple types of shoes…not just shoes in general. Things have gotten much more specific than that.

For example Maple can be obsessed with both muffins and green heels on Monday. By Tuesday she is also obsessed with hair extensions, Bond movies, dirty martinis, purple heels and seeing a particular friend. Hmmm. So she is now obsessed with both green & purple heels? As well as alllll that other stuff. And its only been TWO FUCKING DAYS. Am I to believe all this?

I say also because can you be over an obsession in a day? I’m assuming that the previous mentioned obsession continues. That there is just an ever-increasing level of obsession covering an ever-increasing amount of items. Is that how it works?

In case you are feeling bold & adventurous…

Beset, gripped, consumed, dominated, engrossed, captivated, possessed, haunted, held, infatuated, monopolized, preoccupied, riveted, engaged, immersed
